We were on site for other reasons when I spotted this low stump in the ground.
It had been ground by someone about 5 years earlier.
Wind, rain, and lawnmowers have worked together to unearth the amount of stump that had been left behind.

The flat surfaces on the roots and the stump itself are evidence of a stump grinding contractor that you do not want to employ.
